    Aria is a self-proclaimed magical disaster. She's the only witch in her family whose magic blows up in her face. That's why she came up with her rules;

    1. Never get involved with magic.
    2. Do not enter a competition to win the biggest magical fortune in England.
    3. Definitely don't fall for Callan Hawthorne.

    But when her family's magical potion shop is on the verge of being lost, this competition is the only way to save it. As if that's not bad enough, guess who also competes? Callan Hawthorne, the billionaire mage she's hated for years.

    A Modern Girl's Guide to Magic is a super fun romantic comedy full of friends, family, and adorable furry animals. In the fall, this would be the perfect cozy read. I loved Aria the more I read. She definitely came off as immature at first, but her character development through the novel really shined. Callan was a wonderful character. One of my favorite tropes is enemies to lovers but one has secretly been obsessed with the other the entire time, and we get that with Callan. However, one of my least favorite tropes is miscommunication, and there's a lot between Aria and Callan. I loved all the side characters so much, but especially Boris, Aria's familiar. I really enjoyed the plant magic aspect of this book, but I wish there had been more insight into that aspect of this book.

    Overall, I loved this and I want to give huge thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC to read in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this and cannot wait for the second one! The sequel, How to Fake-Date a Vampire, has an expected publication date of August 18th, 2023.
