Fifty Shades Freed by E.L. James

 Fifty Shades #3

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Dates Read: 5/17/23 - 5/17/23

When innocent Anastasia Steele first met the enigmatic Christian Grey, their intense connection sparked a transformative affair that forever changed their lives. As Ana becomes aware of Christian's unconventional desires and demands a deeper commitment, he reluctantly agrees. Now, as they navigate a world of love, passion, and wealth, Ana quickly realizes that loving Christian comes with unforeseen challenges. Balancing their relationship while preserving her own identity becomes a delicate task, while Christian grapples with his haunting past and controlling tendencies. Despite their strength, external forces and personal demons threaten to shatter their happiness, testing the limits of their love.

The book felt repetitive, and Ana and Christian's actions started to irritate me more and more. It became a cycle where Ana would do something normal, Christian would overreact, she would give in, they would have sex, and he would get his way. It drove me crazy.

The third movie has always been my favorite, so it's no surprise that I enjoyed the third book more than the others too. The character development of both Christian and Ana kept me hooked. It was fascinating to see Christian open up to love and trust with Ana, and I admired Ana's journey of finding her confidence. The epilogue was a nice touch and provided closure, which I appreciated.

There's a decent amount that I liked and an equal if not greater amount that I didn't like. There's not really anything else to say about it, but the movies will always be a guilty pleasure.
