However, a shocking discovery forces them to put aside their differences and team up.
With assassins on their trail, Savvy and Griffin must navigate a treacherous path to survive. As they join forces, they unearth a secret that could bring down both of their agencies. Will they be able to evade their pursuers and find a way to trust each other? With their lives on the line, they are determined to make it out alive so they can have a chance at a future together.
I absolutely loved this book, and it would be perfect for a Halloween read! The forbidden romance between Savvy and Griffin had me hooked from the start. Their chemistry is off the charts, and even in the midst of conflict, their love and trust for each other shine through. The plot was captivating, and I couldn't put the book down; it was a quick and thrilling read. I'm already planning to buy a physical copy to reread it next Halloween. Kudos to the author for delivering such an engaging story.
Savvy and Griffin's love story is incredibly sweet, and I adored how they quickly reconciled and started working together despite their differences. The supporting characters added so much depth to the book, especially the quirky familiars and their charming dynamics with the main couple. Griffin's unwavering support for Savvy and his acceptance of her strength made him an absolute favorite book boyfriend.
However, there were a few moments where it felt like the story held back a bit. Savvy and Griffin sometimes seemed too forgiving, and the antagonists' motivations felt weak, leading to a lackluster final battle. Although some predictability is fine, it was frustrating to see clever characters miss obvious clues that were evident to readers through their inner monologues.
Nevertheless, this tale of opposites coming together and working through challenges was incredibly enjoyable. Griffin's unwavering love for Savvy and her inner conflict about their future made the story compelling and emotionally charged. I can't wait to read more from this talented author. Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book.
