Nothing More to Tell by Karen M. McManus

Rating: ★★★★☆

Dates Read: 7/19/23 - 7/20/23

"Nothing More to Tell" by Karen M. McManus is a suspenseful mystery novel centered around Brynn, a teenager who returns to her former school, Saint Ambrose, after four years. The story revolves around the unsolved murder of Brynn's favorite teacher, Mr. Larkin. Determined to uncover the truth, Brynn embarks on an investigation to unravel the events surrounding the tragedy. As she digs deeper, she discovers hidden secrets and realizes that the three students who discovered Mr. Larkin's body might hold crucial information, including her ex-best friend, Tripp. The book takes readers on a thrilling journey as Brynn unravels the mysteries and confronts the truth behind the murder.

Brynn and Tripp were absolutely fantastic and I couldn't help but fall in love with them. Their chemistry and dynamic added an extra layer of excitement to the story. I initially listened to this book on audio, but I was so engrossed in the story that I found myself needing to have it on my Kindle as well. It allowed me to continue reading even when I wasn't in the car or at work, where I usually listen to audiobooks. The fact that I had to have both formats speaks to how much I enjoyed this book.

There are many unresolved elements and intriguing mysteries that could be further explored. If a sequel is in the works, it would be fascinating to see how these loose ends are addressed. However, if there isn't a sequel planned, it leaves behind some noticeable plot holes that may leave readers wanting more. It definitely left me yearning for further exploration of the lives of these captivating characters. A sequel would be a perfect opportunity to delve deeper into their stories.

One character that stood out for me was Ellie. She played a crucial role in solving the mystery, and without her trap, Brynn and Tripp might have taken longer to uncover the truth. Ellie's character was well-developed and added layers of intrigue to the story. I would love to see her take on the role of the main character in a sequel or have her own mystery to solve. She has the potential to shine even more in future books.

I have thoroughly enjoyed every book by Karen M. McManus that I've read, and I can't wait to continue working my way through her works.
