Erin, a filmmaker, and Mark, an investment banker, enjoy a romantic honeymoon in Bora Bora. While scuba diving, they find something mysterious. Faced with a secret, they must decide whether to reveal it or keep quiet. Their choice sets off a chain of events, leading them to confront the consequences of their actions. The story explores the fine line between dreams and nightmares and shows how a perfect life can turn dark.
The first chapter of this book blew me away! The story started off with a bang. Throughout this novel, I constantly found myself wanting to scream at Erin and Mark to not do something.
Despite my frustration with the characters' decisions, the story managed to keep me engaged. The suspenseful moments had me on the edge of my seat, and the line, “Have you ever wondered how long it takes to dig a grave?” sends chills down my spine.
However, to enjoy the plot, you have to overlook some believability issues. While I didn't end up loving it, I did like the book. The ending left me wanting more clarity than I got, but overall, it was an enjoyable ride.
