Rating: ★★★★☆
Dates Read: 8/16/23 - 8/17/23
Echo Ridge might look like the typical small town, but it’s hiding something dark. Ellery, after moving in with her grandmother, gets caught up in the town’s secrets. Years ago, a girl was killed, and now, just before school starts, someone threatens to make homecoming just as dangerous. Another girl disappears, deepening the mystery. Ellery, accustomed to secrets in her family, realizes everyone in Echo Ridge has something to hide. Secrets can be risky, and in Echo Ridge, it’s best to keep them quiet.
I enjoyed this book overall and found it engaging, although I predicted the twist early on. The characters lacked depth, and I wished for more development to make them memorable. While the mystery didn't impress me throughout, the final reveal took me by surprise, which was a pleasant twist. The ending left a chilling impression, catching me off guard and elevating my overall experience. I also thoroughly enjoyed the audiobook! Overall, this was a fun and easy read.
