The Chalice of the Gods by Rick Riordan
Percy Jackson and the Olympian's #6
Rating: ★★★★☆
Dates Read: 12/6/23 - 12/8/23
Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, just wants a regular senior year at Alternative High School in New York. But his plans change when Poseidon says Percy needs to do three quests to get into New Rome University.
The first task is helping Ganymede, Zeus's cupbearer, find a special golden goblet. If mortals drink from it, they could become gods, which Zeus doesn't want. Percy, with his friends Grover and Annabeth, has to find the cup before it causes trouble. Can they do it in time, and will they be able to resist its special power?
"If I had to choose between being with Annabeth and...well, anything, that was no choice at all."
This book is a fantastic blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling. It stays true to the beloved original characters, evoking the same emotions I felt as a kid. The modern twists are well-balanced, not overdone, which I really appreciate.
Percy and Annabeth have always held a special place in my heart, and this book elevated them even more. I'm already so excited for what 'The Wrath of the Triple Goddess' has in store.
