It's Halloween night, and Jen is waiting up for her son, Todd, who comes home and commits a terrible crime by stabbing someone. When Jen wakes up the next day, it's yesterday again, and the murder hasn't happened yet.
Realizing she's stuck in a time loop, Jen tries to figure out what triggers Todd's violence so she can stop it. Each day, she wakes up earlier in the past, trying to prevent the murder and save her son. But as she digs deeper, she uncovers painful truths and races against time to change Todd's fate.
This book is a real rollercoaster of surprises. While I managed to guess a few things, there were still plenty of twists that kept me guessing. The story is really intricate, with lots of clues that all come together in the end. But, I have to admit, the pacing can feel a bit slow at times, and the way the story jumps between different times and scenes isn't always smooth. Despite that, the story itself kept me interested.
One thing I really liked was how the relationships between the characters were portrayed. It added a lot of depth to the story, and I found myself easily rooting for the characters. Overall, the surprises and the family dynamics made it a really enjoyable and fun read.
