Zero Days by Ruth Ware

Rating: ★★★★☆

Dates Read: 2/19/24 - 2/21/24

Jack and her husband, Gabe, are top-notch penetration specialists hired by companies to test their security systems. However, their world shatters when a routine job ends in tragedy—Gabe is found dead, and Jack becomes the prime suspect in his murder.

With the police hot on her trail, Jack is forced into a desperate race against time. As she navigates a web of deception and betrayal, she must unravel the truth to clear her name and uncover the real killer.

Zero Days had me hooked right from the start. It's a rollercoaster ride of excitement and tension that I couldn't put down. I felt so invested in Jack as she navigated through some seriously intense situations. Even though she's skilled, things get pretty bad, and I was rooting for her the whole time.

While I did have a hunch about who the bad guy was, I couldn't quite figure out their motive, which added an extra layer of intrigue to the story. It's a bit different from Ware's other books, but I found it refreshing and fun.

Overall, while it might not be my absolute favorite of Ware's works, I still thoroughly enjoyed the gripping writing style and the tough, relatable character of Jack. It's definitely a thrilling read that kept me entertained until the very end.
