The Teacher by Freida McFadden
Rating: ★★★★☆
Dates Read: 2/28/24 - 3/1/24
Eve leads a happy life with her husband Nate and her job as a high school math teacher. But things take a turn when rumors of a student-teacher affair involving Addie, one of Eve's students, start swirling around the school.
While everyone sees Addie as trouble, Eve senses there's more to her story. Addie is hiding secrets that could ruin her life, and she'll do whatever it takes to keep them hidden. As tensions rise and suspicions grow, Eve finds herself caught in the middle of a dangerous game of secrets and lies.
This book is a wild ride filled with twists, turns, and jaw-dropping reveals. It's a gripping tale of obsession, secrets, lies, and revenge that kept me glued to the pages.
I enjoyed seeing the story from different characters' points of view, even though they weren't the nicest bunch of people. Their flaws made the story even more interesting. While some parts of the plot were easy to guess, especially if you're familiar with McFadden's writing style, the ending completely surprised me. It was so shocking that my jaw literally dropped.
Overall, I loved this book, but I couldn't give it five stars because some parts were too predictable. Still, I'll definitely read anything else with McFadden's name on it.
