Wildfire by Hannah Grace
Maple Hills #2
Rating: ★★★★☆
Dates Read: 5/17/24 - 5/20/24
Russ and Aurora, students from Maple Hills, hook up at a party. Aurora rushes out before Russ can even get her full name. They're surprised to find themselves both working as counselors at a summer camp. Russ wants to avoid his dad's gambling problems by being away, while Aurora seeks comfort in a place she once felt at home.
The camp has strict rules against staff dating, but Aurora isn't one for rules. Russ worries about the consequences. Can they work together peacefully, or will their one-night stand cause more trouble than they bargained for?
I really loved this, it was funny, sweet, and spicy, with a great mix of romance and deeper themes like addiction and self-love. The characters are fantastic, and I especially enjoyed watching them grow throughout the story.
The summer camp setting added an extra layer of fun, and Hannah's writing style kept me hooked from start to finish. Russ was a standout character, and I loved the epilogue. I'm also excited for Henry's story, and I'd even read a book about Xander, even though he's not from Maple Hills.
