Playing Jenna by Kiersten Modglin

Rating: ★★★☆☆

Dates Read: 7/8/24 - 7/8/24

Monroe Perry’s life is turned upside down when her husband leaves her for another woman, Jenna. This betrayal makes Monroe doubt everything she knew about her marriage and life. As Monroe seeks revenge, she digs into the affair and finds out darker truths than she expected. Realizing she might not have known her husband at all, Monroe sets out to uncover the truth about her past and the woman who ruined her life.

The book shifts a lot between Monroe’s memories and places, making the second half a bit confusing. I was more interested in how things happened rather than why. The narrator is unreliable, which means you’re constantly learning things that turn out to be wrong. By the end, there are so many characters, many with different names, that it’s hard to keep track of who’s who. Overall, it was intriguing but a bit hard to follow.
