Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey

Bellinger Sisters #2.

Rating: ★★★★✰

Dates Read: 6/19/23 - 6/20/23

King crab fisherman, Fox Thornton, is known for his charming and carefree nature, making him a hit with the ladies. But everything changes when he meets Hannah Bellinger, a woman who seems impervious to his charms and just wants to be friends. Though tempted by her, Fox values their connection too much to risk a fling, so they settle for being platonic pals.

Hannah is in town for work and stays in Fox's spare bedroom. While she nurses a crush on a coworker, Fox becomes her wingman in the dating scene. However, the more time they spend together, the more Hannah realizes her feelings for Fox. She refuses to be just another conquest and resolves to keep things strictly friendly.

Living together as friends should be simple, but the close proximity brings unexpected challenges. Fox finds himself falling for Hannah, daydreaming about a future with her. Helping her pursue someone else becomes unbearable, and he decides to confront his own feelings. If Fox can overcome his inner struggles and show Hannah that he's fully committed, maybe she'll choose him over anyone else. The line between friendship and romance blurs, and Fox is determined to prove he's all in for a chance at love with Hannah.

“I didn’t know what right felt like until you,” he choked out. “I’m holding on to the good you give me. I’m holding on to you.”

I can't make up my mind about whether I like Brenden and Piper more than Fox and Hannah, but one thing's for sure – Tessa Bailey nailed it again! This book was an absolute delight, and I loved seeing Hannah grow and explore new horizons. It was both adorable and spicy, a perfect blend.

The emotional depth added a realistic touch that made the book all the more engaging. The tension and chemistry between the characters were off the charts, practically palpable. I was totally engrossed, feeling feral and wild with excitement. Fox's obsession with Hannah had me grinning from ear to ear. The dirty talk? Whew.

I loved Hannah so much. She's smart, confident, and a leading woman all the way. It was so satisfying to see her put Fox in his place, making him grovel and feel the consequences of his actions. I'm all for a man who adores the ground a woman walks on.

The epilogue at the end was just the cherry on top – the cutest thing ever! Tessa Bailey knows how to deliver a satisfying and heartwarming ending. This book has definitely won a special place in my heart, and I am now counting down the minutes for another Tessa Bailey book.
