Rating: ★★★★☆

Dates Read: 5/10/23 - 5/11/23

Get ready to meet the ladies of Buckhead—the crowd with fancy cars, lavish homes, and friendships that can get seriously competitive.

Shannon used to reign supreme in Buckhead, but her politician husband Bryce has coldly left her for a younger woman. Determined to get even, Shannon plots her revenge...

Crystal, a naive Texan girl, unknowingly steps into Shannon's shoes, completely oblivious to the cutthroat world of Buckhead and the challenges that lie ahead.

Olivia has been biding her time, eagerly waiting for the opportunity to dethrone Shannon and claim the coveted title of Buckhead's unofficial queen. With her chance finally at hand, she's prepared to employ every sneaky, manipulative tactic in the book to secure her rightful place on the throne.

Jenny is the proud owner of Glow, the town's most exclusive salon. Behind hairdryers and styling chairs, she holds the secrets and deepest desires of her clients. But the burning question remains: will she ever reveal what she knows?

Who amongst these women will be clever enough to survive Buckhead—and who will wind up dead? They say that friendships can be complex, but no one said it could ever be this deadly.

The audiobook narrators brought this book to life and made it even more enjoyable for me. Having a different narrator for each character in the audiobook really added depth and brought all the characters to life in a unique way.

I was kind of hoping for more mystery and suspense in the murder plot. Honestly, I forgot about it at times because the focus seemed to be elsewhere. I just would've preferred to have more mystery. The ending is not completely unexpected, but the rest of the book is so fun that I didn't mind.

I had a blast reading this book and I quickly got hooked into the story. However, I felt a bit let down by the quick resolution at the end. Despite that, it's still a super enjoyable, fast-paced, and delightfully over-the-top read.
