Too Wrong to be Right by Melonie Johnson
Rating: ★★★★☆
Dates Read: 1/25/23 - 1/28/23
When Kat Kowalski's most recent jerk of a boyfriend ends their relationship (and leaves her to care for his pet hedgehog), she reaches a decision: no more wasting her time chasing after Mr. Wrong. Seeing her two closest friends progress into more committed relationships, Kat realizes it's time to break the cycle of repeating the same mistakes that have kept her stuck in the realm of singleness. Determined to find her perfect Mr. Right, she creates a list of qualities that he must possess and swears off dating until she discovers him.
In a twist of fate involving a mishap with a deceased body and a feisty cockatoo, Kat crosses paths with Mick O'Sullivan at his family's funeral home. The instant spark between them serves as a warning sign for Kat to keep things strictly platonic. After all, following her heart has never led to anything but disappointment in the past, and this time she's determined to let her head make the decisions. But can Kat and Mick truly remain just friends?
To be honest, I was initially worried about reading this book due to some of the reviews. It ended up pleasantly surprising me and exceeded my expectations. While Kat and Mick annoyed me at times, I still found myself rooting for them. I absolutely loved the unique element of the funeral home in this book. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed this book and I will most likely be reading more from this author.
