The Arrangement by Kiersten Modglin

The Arrangement #1

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)

Dates Read: 12/27/23 - 12/28/23

Ainsley Greenburg, a skilled fixer, faces the unraveling of her marriage and makes a drastic decision to salvage it. Proposing a daring arrangement to her husband, Peter, they agree to date others weekly without discussing the encounters.

As the rules are broken, mistakes lead to dire consequences. With no one to trust but each other, dark secrets resurface, testing the foundation of their relationship. Can they withstand the mounting lies, deception, and temptation, or will their vows of unity be shattered by the very secrets they seek to protect?

Modglin dives straight into the plot, skipping introductions for an immediate start to the arrangement agreement. The book takes an unexpected turn, feeling like two distinct stories in the first and second halves.

Towards the end, you have multiple things thrown at you, and then it's over. Usually I don't love that, but here, it worked. It's been a long time since I've read a thriller that truly had my jaw on the floor.

I can't wait to get to not only the next in this series, but to read more of Modglin's work.
