Two Sides to Every Murder by Danielle Valentine

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)

Dates Read: 1/4/24 - 1/7/24

Olivia's life takes a turn when she discovers her dad isn't her biological father. Seeking answers at Camp Lost Lake, the site of her birth and a past massacre, she crosses paths with Reagan. Raised on the run with her alleged murderer mother, Reagan aims to clear her mom's name for past deaths at the camp. With the camp reopening, both dig into family secrets, uncovering mysteries. However, someone is willing to commit murder to keep the past hidden. To reveal the truth, they must confront a dangerous killer in the darkening Camp Lost Lake.

Two Sides to Every Murder has all the makings of a hit slasher film. It's fast paced, the characters are fun, and the writing makes you feel like you're really there.

I loved everything about this. The pacing was perfect, the suspense of the book kept me from guessing the twist, and the ending is probably my favorite part about it. I could basically hear the scream sound clip right before the credits start rolling. This is so much fun, and I felt the same way about Valentine's first book, How to Survive Your Murder.

Valentine is easily an auto-read author for me, and I can't wait to see what she does next. Thank you so much to NetGalley and G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. Two Sides to Every Murder releases on June 4, 2024!
