Rating: ★★★★★

Dates Read: 3/20/24 - 3/22/24

Tara Westover grew up in rural Idaho with survivalist parents who rejected mainstream society. She didn't attend school until age 17, instead learning herbalism and self-taught subjects. Despite facing family violence and lack of formal education, she gained admission to Brigham Young University, then Harvard and Cambridge.

Educated is Tara's journey of self-discovery and breaking free from her family's constraints. It delves into themes of loyalty, grief, and the transformative power of education. Tara's story highlights the importance of perspective and the courage to embrace change.

This book is incredible. The writing style keeps you hooked from start to finish, with no dull moments. Tara's story is both haunting and inspiring, reminding us of the strength it takes to overcome adversity.

It's a memoir that really makes you appreciate how easy your own life is compared to others'. Tara's resilience in the face of her challenging upbringing is truly remarkable.

Overall, this is one of the best books I've read in 2024, and I'll be telling everyone about it.
