We Are All the Same in the Dark by Julia Heaberlin

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4.5/5)

Dates Read: 2/7/25 - 2/10/25

A decade after Trumanell Branson’s disappearance, her brother Wyatt remains a town outcast. When he discovers a mute, one-eyed girl abandoned in a field, young cop Odette Tucker sees a chance to unravel both the town’s darkest mystery and her own past. But as she digs deeper, she learns some truths are more dangerous than the lies that bury them.

I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this when I first started it, but I actually really enjoyed this one. I think the book being split into multiple parts was one of my favorite aspects of the book. By the time it ended, I had become so invested in the characters that I hadn't tried to figure out the mystery. I cannot wait to read more from Heaberlin!
