Clementine copes with her grief by following a plan her aunt taught her: keep busy, work hard, find love, and chase dreams. For a year, she sticks to this routine. However, when she encounters a man in her late aunt’s apartment, she discovers he's from the past due to a time-bending property. Despite their connection, Clementine grapples with the challenges of a relationship across time, fearing the inevitable heartbreak due to their mismatched timelines.
This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster! I found myself sobbing, laughing, and squealing with joy while reading. I didn't expect to cry so much, but the story truly touched my heart in ways I didn't anticipate.
Yes, it was a little predictable in certain parts, but it didn't bother me. I was so wrapped up in hoping for a happy ending, and being really worried we wouldn't get one.
Iwan, one of the characters, stole my heart with his sweetness and care. Clementine, the main character, quickly became one of my favorite female protagonists. Her down-to-earth nature, strength, and kindness made her a character I was happy to accompany on her journey of growth. Analea, another character, fascinated me. Her confidence and strength, coupled with her well-traveled background, made her someone I admired. However, there were moments when I wished to know more about her. Her storyline, while incredibly touching, might require a trigger warning, but it was written with such sensitivity and depth that it left a lasting impression on me.
Overall, this book is a must-read, offering a mix of emotions and characters that will stay with you long after you finish the last page. Ashley Poston is an auto-buy author for me!
