You Are Not Alone by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen
Rating: ★★★☆☆

Shay Miller longs for love, fulfillment, and a sense of belonging. Her life changes when she befriends the glamorous Moore sisters, Cassandra and Jane. Their presence seems to improve Shay's life, but the desire to be accepted by them takes a dark turn. Shay becomes entangled in a dangerous web, leading her to extreme measures to win their approval. This book took a frustrating turn for me, especially with the introduction of the group of women, which became overly complicated and confusing. Despite the detailed backgrounds and present activities of these characters, I found it hard to distinguish between them, except for Cassandra and Jane.
I wished the story had focused more on Shay and the two scarcely seen female police officers. I felt that shifting the perspective to these characters could have added depth to the plot. Instead, the story's focus on Cassandra, Jane, and the other women left me feeling lost.
The third part of the book felt predictable, and Shay's naivety made it easy for me to foresee the outcomes. The exaggerated villainous traits of Cassandra and Jane felt cringe-worthy, and distinguishing the voices of the group's women became challenging due to their separate chapter POVs, which I found unnecessary. Additionally, the ending felt cheesy and unsatisfying, ultimately detracting from the overall experience.
