Sorry for the completely unplanned hiatus! I'm BACK!

I'm back! In short, I have been in one of my worst reading slumps basically ever. That on top of working two jobs and life getting crazy does not bode well for keeping up with reviews. With that being said, I am happy to report that I am OUT of my slump!

Kill Joy

I didn't read this until I had read the entire series, but I honestly wouldn't change that if I could. This was so fun, fast paced, and a great look into Pip before she started her podcast.

I really enjoyed this, it was super cute and fun!

As Long As We Both Shall Live

Chaney's writing is dark and complex, creating an engaging and suspenseful story. The narrative shifts between 1995 and 2018, offering perspectives from multiple characters, including Matt, his wife Marie, and his other wife, Janice.

Nothing is what it seems in this story. It's filled with secrets, betrayals, and unexpected twists that will keep you hooked. If you enjoy domestic thrillers with plenty of secrets, lies, and deception, this book is perfect for you. Chaney keeps you guessing right up to the end.

Such a Lovely Family

First of all, let's hear it for this COVER! This murder mystery book is a wild ride, full of interesting characters and juicy secrets in both the family and the neighborhood. It's well-written and has a puzzle-like locked-door murder to solve. the suspense builds slowly at first, but then it explodes into a thrilling ending, dropping twists and surprises like bombs. It's messy, it's fun, and it'll keep you guessing until the very last page. Massive thank you to Forge Books for the gifted copy of this novel!

Maybe In Another Life

This story alternates between showing how Hannah's life unfolds in two different realities. While I absolutely loved the romance aspect of this, Hannah and Gabby's friendship is what meant the most to me. Reid explores whether life is about fate or the choices we make, adding humor and warmth. the book is a touching look at relationships and how decisions shape our lives, and I absolutely adored it. I cannot wait to read more from Reid!!

When She Was Me

I enjoyed this book, though at times I found myself a bit distracted and confused while reading. However, sticking with it was worthwhile, and now that I know the ending, I'm tempted to give it another read. It's a solid debut from the author, and I'm excited to see what they write next.

These Deadly Games

The author's idea of setting a mystery in a video game competition hooked me right away. But honestly, I didn't like any of the characters. There were plenty of surprises in the story, but I saw most of them coming from a mile away. Despite that, the book was still fun and fast-paced, full of action and a couple unexpected twists. It was a fun read, even if some parts could've been more surprising.

The Boyfriend Candidate

I really enjoyed this, it was so fun and so, so cute. I really liked seeing Alexis find herself and break out of her shell. Logan is literally perfect, and I wish we could've gotten his perspective. My only complaint is the insane amount of miscommunication in this book. I listened to this on audio, and I was rolling my eyes about it SO much. I love Winstead's books, and I can't wait to read more from her!!

First Lie Wins

This was such a fun and entertaining read! It grabbed my attention and kept it throughout the entire story. I was very impressed by the unexpected twists and turns. It's not your typical story of a murdered spouse or a neighbor with secrets—it's a fresh spin on stolen identities, mysterious masterminds, and layers of hidden secrets.

I started forming theories early on, but I was obsessed and guessing until the very end. Sometimes I was on the right track with my guesses, but the story still managed to surprise me at every turn. First Lie Wins is a gripping and suspenseful read that kept me engaged from beginning to end.

Listen For the Lie

This thriller had me completely hooked—it was gripping and hard to put down. Even when I wasn't reading, I couldn't stop thinking about it. The way Tintera used an unreliable narrator made me question everything. Right from the beginning, I was drawn into the mystery of Lucy's memory loss and the details surrounding Savvy's murder. The characters surprised me throughout the story, each adding their own twists. I especially liked how Tintera included the theme of a true crime podcast, which added even more intrigue. Overall, this book was a thrilling read that kept me on edge, eager to piece together the mystery. It mixes suspense, mystery, and clever storytelling in a way that left a strong impression on me.
