Hello Again!

I know I literally posted last month that I was planning on not disappearing again, unfortunately, I work two jobs. For me, that means I read as much as I can, but it doesn't leave me a ton of time to actually sit down and write reviews that I truly thought about. So, bear with me, here is everything I have read since The Reappearance of Rachel Price

Good Girl's Don't Die

I honestly really, really liked this. I would love to see this as a movie. I felt connected to all 3 main characters, and I was really excited to see how Henry was going to bring these different women together. I think the maze might have been my favorite, but overall, I really enjoyed this and highly recommend it!

Widow Falls

I have been on a bit of a Modglin binge lately, and they've essentially all been on audiobook. I really liked the experience of this book on audio, I felt like I could feel the tension myself. I think the pacing was great in this book, but Sloane felt a little too hysterical at times? Modglin did a very good job of throwing enough curveballs at me to keep me from figuring everything out. I did enjoy this book, but the ending was really confusing for me and it's definitely what I remember most.

You'll Never Know I'm Here

Modglin pulls you in from the first chapter, and kept my interest the whole book. I listened to this on audio and the atmosphere felt very real. my only complaint isn't really a complaint, but the ending was.. odd? It was okay, it was definitely out there, but it felt rushed. Overall, I enjoyed this, but the ending definitely had me raising my eyebrows a little.

The Family Secret

This book was a lot of fun to read! The twists and turns were wild and sometimes made the story hard to believe, but I enjoyed the excitement. Even though I had issues with the ending, I still really liked it. Overall, it’s a fun and entertaining read!

The Missing Piece

This book is very YA, but it was still interesting. It's hard to describe without giving spoilers. The twist wasn't very surprising, but the story was told in a unique way. It felt rushed and sometimes too unbelievable for me. I'm slowly working through Modglin's other books, and while this one wasn't my favorite, it still kept me interested.

If You're Reading This

This book had a plot that didn't surprise me much, but the ending did catch me off guard. It felt more like a mystery than a thriller, and I didn't care much about what happened to Phil. Compared to the author's other books, I found it less thrilling. Still, it kept me interested and was an okay read overall.

The Hollow

In this book, Carmen gets involved in a love triangle with the Hunter brothers, Jack and Dean, which kept me hooked. Diana Bustelo's narration was fantastic, bringing the characters to life vividly. Overall, I liked the book, although it wasn't as suspenseful as I expected. The relationships between the characters and Bustelo's narration made it a fun read.

Daughter of Mine

I really liked this book. The atmosphere was spot-on, with lots of misleading clues that kept me guessing. The story was complex and kept my interest throughout. While the ending wasn't shocking, the journey to it was so engaging that it didn't bother me. I liked how the reader discovers things along with the characters, sharing in their suspense. Overall, I loved this book and can't wait to read more from Miranda.

The List

This book had a good idea that kept me curious, but it didn't fully grab my attention. The mystery felt like it was just starting to get interesting when it suddenly ended. I kept reading to see how it all turned out, and while most things got explained, I still have some questions. If you want a fast mystery to read, this could be a good choice, but be prepared for a somewhat abrupt ending.

The Stranger

I enjoyed the setting and fast-paced nature of this book. The characters were a bit cliché and flat, but it was still entertaining. The plot kept me guessing with a nice twist, though I felt a bit disappointed overall. It was a quick and decent read, providing suspense despite some shortcomings in the story.

Hemlock

This book mixed mystery, romance, and a bit of the supernatural. It grabbed my attention with the mystery of whether Maggie's house was haunted or not. The ending and twists were satisfying, and even though I didn't connect with Maggie at first, her character grew on me. Overall, the storytelling kept me hooked—I couldn't stop reading!

Funny Story

I loved the friendship between Ashleigh and Daphne. It felt real and raw, with Ashleigh supporting Daphne while also being honest with her. The focus on Ashleigh's character added depth to their bond. Miles and Daphne’s love story was great, starting from friendship and growing naturally. Their relationship felt unique and relatable with its imperfections. Daphne's journey to overcome her fears was inspiring. The epilogue was a beautiful ending. Emily Henry never disappoints! I absolutely loved this book and can't wait for more from her.

The Mother-in-Law

I thought this book was okay—entertaining, but it didn't completely blow me away. The reason behind Coralee's actions was unexpected and quite unique, which I liked. Overall, it was an okay read.

Becoming Mrs. Abbott

I really liked this book, especially how well it was produced as an audiobook—it felt like watching a movie. It grabbed my attention right from the beginning. While some twists were a bit over-the-top, I was so into the story that it didn't bother me. Kiersten Modglin knows how to stretch the limits while keeping the suspense alive. Keep an open mind with these books because they can be a little crazy, but that's what makes them exciting and keeps you guessing.

The Liar's Wife

The beginning hooked me, but the middle part dragged a bit at times. I kept reading because I was curious about the story. I love unexpected twists, and this book had a good one near the end. The ending was surprising but felt rushed. Overall, it was a good read, and I’d recommend it to anyone who enjoys family drama thrillers or is just a fan of Modglin.

The Roommate

The surprises in this book really caught me off guard, and I felt like I was experiencing Wesley's confusion firsthand. I found myself rooting for the couple and hoping they would figure things out. Overall, it was a fun and straightforward read that kept me entertained throughout.

Tell Me The Truth

I really liked how fast-paced this book was—it kept me hooked chapter after chapter. As someone who loves thrillers, I found the surprises and intense moments exactly what I was hoping for. The ending was satisfying and thrilling, making it a great read overall for thriller fans like me.

A Quiet Retreat

I listened to the audiobook and finished it very quickly because it was short and full of action. The story's dual timeline kept me wondering how things would unfold. I enjoyed the mystery and suspense; it was entertaining and I loved the last line. I was never bored, and overall, it's a good pick for anyone looking for a quick and engaging mystery.

Don't Go Down There

At first, I thought I knew where the story was heading, but the final twist completely caught me off guard. It definitely bumped up my rating from two stars to three. The pacing was quick, which kept me engaged—I found myself eagerly flipping through the pages to see how it would all unfold.

Wait for Dark

Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. The fast pace, great characters, and numerous twists kept me hooked. It’s best to start reading without knowing much about it to fully enjoy the clever plot. If you like thrillers with blackmail and surprises, this is for you! The last part of the book was especially gripping.

And I am unfortunately just now realizing that I forgot to put Ruthless Vows on the pictures, buuut, I gave it 4 stars and here is the review:

I honestly don't have a ton to say about this one. I did enjoy it, but I think I only enjoyed it as much as I did because of how much I loved the first one. I do understand the lack of the romance aspect, but it played a big part in not enjoying this one as much. I feel like it tied things up nicely, and I really loved Iris. I am eager to read more from Ross in the future!
